While our residents here at the Haberdashery Cryptid Preserve may have more unusual palates (we're looking at you, Mothman with your inexplicable love for mothballs), we can all appreciate a classic vanilla cupcake! Today, on National Vanilla Cupcake Day, we celebrate this delightful dessert – a blank canvas for creativity and a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.

Did you know? Vanilla beans are actually the fruit of a climbing orchid vine! The process of curing vanilla beans is long and labor-intensive, which contributes to their high price tag. This might explain why the Jersey Devil, a notorious prankster with a sweet tooth, has been known to pilfer vanilla extract from nearby bakeries! But fear not, cupcake connoisseurs – we here at the Haberdashery have plenty to go around (and we keep a watchful eye on our ingredients).
